Softball Recap: Carrick Takes a Loss

Carrick came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Gateway Gators, falling 14-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-8 back in March.

Carrick saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayda Rose, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Carrick's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Gateway, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carrick will challenge Avella at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gateway, they will take on Woodland Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gators are facing the Wolverines at the right time seeing as the Wolverines are stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
