Recap: Fauquier Falcons vs. Kettle Run Cougars
The Fauquier Falcons''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Kettle Run 56-6. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fauquier in their matchups with Kettle Run: they've now lost four in a row.
Kettle Run got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Colton Quaker out in front who rushed for 132 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. Quaker is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last nine games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Rodgers, who picked up 180 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Fauquier's loss was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.2 points per game. As for Kettle Run, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fauquier will take on Meridian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Meridian is ranked 236th, while Fauquier is ranked 256th). As for Kettle Run, they will be playing at home against Brentsville District at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brentsville District is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
