Soccer Game Preview: Bonney Lake vs. Puyallup

The Bonney Lake Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Puyallup Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bonney Lake took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand South Kitsap a 5-0 shutout. The contest marked Bonney Lake's most dominant victory of the season so far.

They hit South Kitsap with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Gavin Murphy (3), Zane Pearson, and Ben Lohse.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Puyallup and Emerald Ridge meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Vikings walked away with a 2-0 win over the Jaguars. The result kept Puyallup happy, as they haven't lost a game yet this season.

Puyallup's victory bumped their record up to 4-0-1. As for Bonney Lake, the win got them back to even at 3-3-1.
