Softball Preview: Capital Golden Eagles vs. Timberline Wolves        
        
		
            
 Capital is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Timberline is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Capital Golden Eagles will take on the Timberline Wolves at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication,  both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
 On Wednesday, Capital faced Borah in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Capital sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  10-8  victory over Borah.
 Capital got a  massive  performance out of  Lizzy Turpen, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of  McKenna Chavez, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-5.
 Meanwhile, Timberline put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season  on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Middleton as Timberline made off with  a  14-2 win.
  Delaney Wright made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out 16 batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   one  hit. Wright has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in six consecutive pitching appearances. Wright was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-4 with a  home run and four  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Ashlyn Graklanoff, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Bre Degen, who  went 2-for-4 with a  home run and three  RBI.
 Capital's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Timberline, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six games,  which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record  this season.
 Both  the two teams just can't seem to miss. Capital has been making plenty of contact this season,  having  averaged 10  hits per game. However, it's not like Timberline struggles in that department as   they've been averaging  only 3.6. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Capital came up short against Timberline in their previous meeting  two weeks ago, falling  3-0. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of   Wright, who   didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Now that Capital knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
