Basketball Recap: Beaumont's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Beaumont was the 69-32 winner over Citrus Hill when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars fell 65-58 to the Hawks on Friday. The loss put an end to the Cougars' undefeated start to the season.

Despite the defeat, Beaumont saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zion Diorio went 9-for-18 on his way to 20 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Nathan Brickman was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 14 points and nine boards.

Jerren White was nothing short of spectacular for Citrus Hill: he dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten steals. White has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 36 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kannon Steward, who shot 55% from the field en route to 14 points and three steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Beaumont fell to 2-1. As for Citrus Hill, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Beaumont didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-41 victory against Moreno Valley on the 22nd. As for Citrus Hill, they have also already played their next contest, a 71-53 loss against Summit on the 22nd.
