Basketball Recap: Thomas County Central Comes Up Short

Thomas County Central lost against Veterans two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets were dealt a 58-22 defeat at the hands of the Veterans Warhawks. While losing is never fun, the Yellow Jackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while the Warhawks are ranked 81st).

Despite the loss, Thomas County Central still got an impressive performance from Jaida Pinkins, who posted ten points and six boards. The dominant performance also gave Pinkins a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Nia Hayes, who scored five points.

Thomas County Central dropped their record down to 9-12 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Veterans, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.

Thomas County Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 39-34 win against Houston County on the 1st. Veterans has also already played their next contest, a 62-57 defeat against Northside on the 1st.
