Softball Recap: Allegany Campers vs. Boonsboro Warriors
With a playoff game on the line, Allegany rose to the challenge on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 9-1 margin over the Boonsboro Warriors. Allegany's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Abigail Britton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered one run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 17 consecutive pitching appearances.
On the hitting side, Makenzie Monahan was incredible, going 1-for-3 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI. Alexis Johnston was another key contributor, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and a double.
Allegany's victory bumped their record up to 20-0. As for Boonsboro, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 24-1.
