Volleyball Recap: Hillside Comes Up Short

Hillside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wakefield Wolverines. While the Hornets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wolverines 25-18 in the first set.

Hillside started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 24-26, 25-20, 25-21, 15-8.

Hillside's record is now 0-6. As for Wakefield, their victory bumped their record up to 2-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillside will square off against Eno River Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wakefield, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Riverside-Durham at 5:15 p.m. on May 2.
