Softball Recap: Cherry Hill West Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Cherry Hill West entered their tilt with Cherry Hill East on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Cougars. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 5-4 victory the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Cherry Hill West got a great performance from Ella Davis as she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.

On the hitting side, Olivia Croge was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Emily Garbe was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Cherry Hill West's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Cherry Hill East, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4.

Looking ahead, Cherry Hill West will venture away from home to square off against Seneca at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Cherry Hill East, they will welcome Cherokee at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 3.3, the Chiefs 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
