Baseball Recap: Killingly Comes Up Short

Killingly had lost four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped down to 2-5 to make it five. They fell just short of the Woodstock Academy Centaurs by a score of 4-3. The Trailblazers were not able to make up for their loss to the Centaurs from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

As for Woodstock Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since May 24, 2025.

For Woodstock Academy's part, Hayden Maloney was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI Maloney has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Caleb Simoneau, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Killingly will square off against Putnam at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Woodstock Academy, they will face off against Ellis RVT at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
