Basketball Recap: Wethersfield Extends Winning Streak to Six

Wethersfield waltzed into their match on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They strolled past the Stockton Blackhawks with points to spare, taking the game 45-30. That's more bragging rights for the Flying Geese, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Several Blackhawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Madie Mammoser, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards. Mammoser is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Dylann Broshous was another key player, putting up nine points.

Wethersfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for Stockton, they moved to 9-5 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Wethersfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-37 defeat against Monmouth-Roseville on the 30th. Stockton has also already played their next match, a 23-17 victory against Rockridge on the 30th.
