Basketball Game Preview: JAG Jaguars vs. Auburn Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the JAG Jaguars take on the Auburn Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday... JAG is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 53-23, which was the final score in JAG's tilt against Booker T. Washington on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 66th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Auburn, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against Percy Julian by a score of 60-50 on Saturday.

JAG's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Auburn, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

JAG didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Auburn in their previous matchup back in February of 2020, but they still walked away with a 68-62 win. Does JAG have another victory up their sleeve, or will Auburn turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
