Basketball Recap: Delaney Gates Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Parkersburg South

After losing to Parkersburg South the last time they met, Warren decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Warren Warriors walked away with a 41-32 win over the Parkersburg South Patriots on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Warren's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but DeLaney Gates led the charge by putting up nine points in addition to six steals and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Gates a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie James-McGuire, who posted 14 points along with seven boards and five steals.

Warren has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Parkersburg South, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Warren didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 41-20 victory against South Gallia on the 18th. As for Parkersburg South, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 63-61 win against Weir on the 14th.
