Basketball Game Preview: Newport Wildcats vs. DuPont Manual Crimsons

The Newport Wildcats and the DuPont Manual Crimsons will round out the year against one another at at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Newport is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.6 points per game this season.

Newport saw some tournament action on Sunday. They fell 59-52 to Lloyd Memorial.

Newport might have lost, but man, Aj Lowe was a machine: he almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was DaShawn Anderson, who went 5 of 11 en route to 11 points.

Meanwhile, DuPont Manual blew past Bullitt East, posting an 89-55 win. The Crimsons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 26 points or more this season.

Newport's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for DuPont Manual, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.
