Volleyball Recap: Denton Comes Up Short

Denton lost against Ryan back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Broncos took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders. While the Broncos didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Raiders 25-21 in the first set.

Denton started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-17.

Abigail Vasquez was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 20 digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in August. Preslie Shiflett was another key player, getting 12 digs.

Denton is on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-14. As for Ryan, their win ended a five-match drought on the road and puts them at 16-17.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Denton will take on Birdville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ryan, they will face off against Kennedale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
