Football Recap: Desert Ridge Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Desert Ridge extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-4. They had to suffer through a 53-6 loss at the hands of the Mesa Jackrabbits. The Jaguars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jackrabbits apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Gunner Brewer threw for 103 yards and one TD. Gage Highsmith was his top target, picking up 44 receiving yards. On the ground, Derek Wyatt rushed for 62 yards.

As for Mesa, the win got them back to even at 2-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Rio Arnett continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 166 yards and three scores while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Mitton, who rushed for 34 yards and one touchdown.

Desert Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 49-0 loss against Williams Field on the 26th. As for Mesa, they have also already played their next matchup, a 13-10 defeat against Casteel on the 26th.
