Basketball Recap: New Rockford-Sheyenne Find Success

On Tuesday, the New Rockford-Sheyenne Rockets beat the Enderlin Eagles 56-44.

Enderlin's loss came despite strong showings from Aspyn Schlecht and Kaitlyn Maasjo. Schlecht went 7 of 17 en route to 20 points, while Maasjo posted nine points. With that strong performance, Schlecht is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Another player making a difference was Madison Buchholz, who put up seven points.

New Rockford-Sheyenne's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Enderlin, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Rockford-Sheyenne will venture away from home to face off against Benson County [Leeds/Maddock] at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Benson County [Leeds/Maddock] will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something New Rockford-Sheyenne surely won't give up without a fight. As for Enderlin, they will head out on the road to take on Sargent County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
