Cypress Creek is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Tohopekaliga. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bears have posted since March 4th.
Amanda Cintron made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just one earned run off nine hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alondra Lozada, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Boone, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Lake Nona a 13-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Braves have won 12 contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Charltotte Tellez looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.
At the plate, Boone got a massive performance out of Ava Solberg, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Solberg has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Emma Wolfgramm, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Cypress Creek pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Boone, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10.
Cypress Creek couldn't quite finish off Boone in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
