Mission Trail (8 Man) recap Oct. 9, 2012

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Trinity Christian, who took down 58th ranked Trinity Christian, 52-48. Gabriel Hatcher ran for 156 yards and caught one passes for five yards in the win.

Woodside Priory extended the longest winning streak in Mission Trail (8 Man) this week by beating Pinewood, 46-24. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Panthers.

Alma Heights Christian's dynamic duo of Joshua Cayetano and Gabe Bautista proved tough for El Sobrante Christian to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Cayetano threw for 285 yards and four touchdowns and Bautista had 158 yards receiving. Warren Ko helped Alma Heights Christian's passing attack out by catching four balls for 61 yards.

Dre Perez was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 169 yards on 17 carries as the Warriors bested El Sobrante Christian. Matthew Wright also contributed to the rushing game with 98 yards on the ground.

Vince Ko made the biggest impact on defense this week as Alma Heights Christian bested El Sobrante Christian. The 6-foot-1 junior recorded two fumbles and grabbed 1.0 sack.

Trinity Christian's Andrew Ducusin and Perez have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Ducusin has thrown for 1067 yards this season, while Perez has 36 catches for 703 yards. Stuart Hall's Trayvon Hicks leads the league in rushing yards with 720.

A big matchup in Mission Trail (8 Man) this week will be when Woodside Priory takes on Shaumbee Wright's team. Doug Sargent's team is in first place, while the Warriors are in fourth place.

There should be lots of points scored when the Panthers and Trinity Christian face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Woodside Priory comes in having scored 208 this season, while the Warriors have scored 250. The Panthers scored 46 points last week as they topped the Panthers.

Anzar and Trinity Christian played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Anzar eventually emerging with a 52-48 victory. Hatcher in the win.
