Softball Game Preview: Gunn Titans vs. Notre Dame Regents

The Gunn Titans will square off against the Notre Dame Regents at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Gunn's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Del Mar as Gunn made off with a 10-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Titans.

Not much got past Alex Denoel, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Del Mar off the board.

On the hitting side, Gunn let Allison Novick and Anna Brown run wild. Novick went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Brown scored a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, Brown posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Makena Smith was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Presentation 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Regents have posted since April 30, 2024.

Notre Dame saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anya Shah, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Notre Dame's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Gunn, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
