Softball Recap: BVCHEA HomeSchool Comes Up Short

BVCHEA HomeSchool was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Splendora Wildcats.

Mary Kingsbury made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Boytim, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Even though they lost, BVCHEA HomeSchool was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

BVCHEA HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Splendora, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.

BVCHEA HomeSchool and Splendora could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. BVCHEA HomeSchool will take on Silsbee at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday down 594 places (935 vs. 341). BVCHEA HomeSchool has given up an average of 11.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. Similarly, Splendora (ranked 367th) will meet Crosby (ranked 70th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
