Baseball Recap: Hopkinton Hawks vs. Campbell
Hopkinton extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-4 in the process. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Campbell. The Hawks were not able to make up for their defeat to Campbell from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
As for Campbell, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Seven seems to be a good number for they as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
For Campbell's part, they got a massive performance out of Noah Reed, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those RBI marked the first that Reed has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Luke Delia, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Coming up, Hopkinton will challenge Hillsboro-Deering at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hawks are facing the Hillcats at the right time seeing as the Hillcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Campbell, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Belmont at 4:00 p.m.
