Soccer Game Preview: Jackson South Side vs. Chester County

The Jackson South Side Hawks will venture away from home to face off against the Chester County Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Jackson South Side has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 11.

Jackson South Side fell victim to Lexington and their airtight defense on Monday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, Jackson South Side can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 310th, while Lexington are ranked 132nd).

Meanwhile, while the 4-4 score might suggest a draw, it was Hardin County who was credited with the victory on Thursday. The Tigers got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Chester County's one. Even if Chester County couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

They hit Hardin County with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Chris Wilger, Jaylen Edgeston, Tanner Melugin, and Linkin Phillips.

Jackson South Side's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Chester County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Jackson South Side might still be hurting after the 5-0 defeat they got from Chester County when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
