Barron Collier came tearing into Tuesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Evangelical Christian Sentinels 5-3. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Sentinels, too.

Barron Collier got a great performance from Andrew Maroney as he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts Maroney has posted since back in February.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alan Overmyer, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Barron Collier's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Evangelical Christian, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 15-3 record.

Looking ahead, Barron Collier will take on Aubrey Rogers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Evangelical Christian, they will venture away from home to challenge Bonita Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
