Softball Recap: Soquel Knights vs. Monte Vista Christian Mustangs

Sadly, Soquel is still looking for their first win of the season after 15 contests. They fell victim to a tough 19-7 loss at the hands of the Monte Vista Christian Mustangs on Monday. Soquel was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Monte Vista Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2021.

Soquel saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Niizawa, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

On Monte Vista Christian's side, Mae Martin made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed six innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits.
