Volleyball Recap: Meily Reyes Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Whitehall-Yearling

While Franklin Heights has struggled on the road with eight straight losses dating back to last season, that wasn't the case on Tuesday thanks to Carli Wallace. The Falcons walked away with a 3-1 win over the Whitehall-Yearling Rams for which the team can thank Wallace, who had 47 digs. Wallace is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-16, 24-26, 25-18.

Franklin Heights' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Meily Reyes, who had 13 digs and nine assists. Those 13 digs gave Reyes a new career-high. Kaylee McKinney was another key player, getting 11 digs and three assists.

Franklin Heights' win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Whitehall-Yearling, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Franklin Heights has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Columbus School for Girls on the 28th. As for Whitehall-Yearling, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Grandview Heights on the 27th.
