Basketball Recap: Lake View Takes a Loss

Lake View came up into this matchup off a tough 30-point loss on Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Del Valle Conquistadores by a score of 64-62 on Friday. The Chiefs haven't had much luck with the Conquistadores recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Del Valle got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Byan Mei out in front who posted 17 points and five steals. What's more, Mei also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in November of 2023. Jayden Nunez was another key player, going 8 of 14 on his way to 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Lake View's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Del Valle, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-6.

Lake View wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 73-43 loss against Canyon on the 6th. Del Valle has also already played their next game, a 49-45 victory against El Paso on the 6th.
