Basketball Recap: Montgomery Takes a Loss

Montgomery extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 21-9. They lost 51-31 to the Huntsville Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while the Hornets are ranked 136th).

As for Huntsville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-9. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Alyvionia Winn produced another solid performance shooting 65% from the field on her way to 22 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 11 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Riyah Willis, who posted eight points and eight boards.

Coincidentally, Montgomery and Huntsville will both be playing A&M Consolidated the next time they take the court. The Bears will head out to face the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Hornets will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
