Basketball Recap: Clarion-Limestone Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Clarion-Limestone's last matchup with Oil City could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Saturday. The Lions were outmatched by the Oilers and fell 86-54. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 401st, while the Oilers are ranked 197th).

When it comes to explaining why Clarion-Limestone lost, don't look at Paul Craig. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double with 25 points and nine boards. That was a full 46.3% of the Lions' points, marking the seventh time in a row Craig has posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Reagan Parker, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Clarion-Limestone now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Oil City, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Clarion-Limestone and Ellwood City will round out the year against one another at 6:00 p.m. on the 29th. Oil City and Meadville will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. The Oilers will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 58.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
