Basketball Recap: Braxton Bogard Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat St. Mary's

Archbishop Spalding won the last time they faced St. Mary and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cavaliers took down the Saints 66-52. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cavaliers.

Archbishop Spalding got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Braxton Bogard out in front who shot 73% from the field on his way to 18 points and eight rebounds. Bogard is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 15 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron (Nash) Avery, who went 7-for-11 en route to 20 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Archbishop Spalding's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for St. Mary's, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Archbishop Spalding didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-65 defeat against St. John's on the 29th. As for St. Mary's, they have also already played their next game, a 74-73 loss against Benedictine on the 28th.
