Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McGuffey). They never let the Steel Valley Ironmen get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Monday. Considering the Highlanders have won four contests by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

McGuffey got a massive performance out of Faith Ealy, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. What's more, Ealy posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alaina Neff, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Ealy wasn't the only one working in the home run department: McGuffey lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

McGuffey is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Steel Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. McGuffey is set to square off against their familiar foe Keystone Oaks at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Steel Valley will take on rival Charleroi at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
