Softball Recap: Mineral Wells Rams vs. Lipan Indians
Mineral Wells can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They never let the Lipan Indians onto the board and left with a 4-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Mineral Wells also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2022.
Not much got past Hailey McWhorter, who gave up just five hits and racked up six Ks to keep Lipan off the board.
On the hitting side, Sadie Roach was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
On Lipan's side, Ryan Atkinson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-3 with a stolen base and a double. Atkinson is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last four games she's played.
Mineral Wells' victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-14. As for Lipan, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Mineral Wells will be playing in front of their home fans against Graham at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Graham has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Lipan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
