Softball Recap: Central Academy Comes Up Short

Central Academy was the 12-2 winner over Sun Valley when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars came up short against the Spartans on Wednesday, falling 13-3. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Central Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Crawford, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Central Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Sun Valley, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Central Academy Cougars duke it out with Piedmont Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Central Academy's pitchers better be ready for this one: Piedmont has averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Sun Valley, they will square off against Cuthbertson at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cavaliers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
