Basketball Recap: Mountain Pointe Comes Up Short

Mountain Pointe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 68-30 loss at the hands of the Chaparral Firebirds. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pride this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 67-32 back in December of 2024.

Chaparral got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaelie Weishaar out in front who went 10 of 19 on her way to 24 points in addition to seven boards and six assists. The match was Weishaar's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Hailey Donarski was another key player, going 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and five rebounds.

Mountain Pointe's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Chaparral, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Mountain Pointe has already played their next contest (against Campo Verde), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Chaparral wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 59-38 loss against Horizon on the 4th.
