Softball Recap: Bethel-Tate Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins at Home

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bethel-Tate can now relate to. They fell just short of the Reading Blue Devils by a score of 4-3 on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 12-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2019.

Kaylee Randolph spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Maddy Harness was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Kenzie Gillen also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Bethel-Tate's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7. As for Reading, their record now sits at 14-6.

Bethel-Tate does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Reading, they will challenge Northwestern at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight.
