Basketball Recap: West Central Area Takes a Loss

After flying high against Oak Grove Lutheran on Friday, West Central Area came back down to earth. The West Central Area Knights fell 69-60 to the Pelican Rapids Vikings on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while the Vikings are ranked 14th).

West Central Area's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Pelican Rapids, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Central Area will challenge Benson at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. West Central Area has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 188 points over their last three contests. As for Pelican Rapids, they will head out on the road to face off against East Grand Forks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
