Football Recap: Arcadia/Loup City's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Arcadia/Loup City extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 5-0. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 50-45 W against the Pleasanton Bulldogs. This was payback for the Rebels, who suffered a 35-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

Arcadia/Loup City didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ryan Kaslon, Eli Jaixen, and Hudson Obermiller picked up one apiece. Obermiller is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least eight every time he's taken the field this season.

As for Pleasanton, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-5. Even though they lost, their still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 26.4 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Sam Smith and Brennan Lindner certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Smith gained 178 total yards and four touchdowns, while Lindner gained 328 total yards and two touchdowns. Smith also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making 17 total tackles.

Looking ahead, Arcadia/Loup City will challenge Ravenna at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels will need to watch out since the Bluejays have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Pleasanton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Loup at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Lindner and Dylan Pandorf.
