Baseball Game Preview: Humboldt Vikings vs. Clarksburg Rockets

The Humboldt Vikings will take on the Clarksburg Rockets at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 25 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Humboldt and three for Clarksburg.

Humboldt fell victim to Lake County and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 19-0 to the Falcons. That's two games in a row now that the Vikings have lost by exactly 19 runs.

Meanwhile, Clarksburg fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Liberty Tech Magnet on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crusaders. Rockets fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Crusaders since on Friday.

Clarksburg's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Humboldt, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.
