Volleyball Recap: Desert Hills Falls Despite Big Games from Gerritt Grondel and Kai James

If Desert Hills was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Snow Canyon last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Desert Hills took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pine View Panthers on Tuesday. The Thunder have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 14-25, 25-18, 25-17.

Desert Hills' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kai James, who had 16 digs and two assists, and Gerritt Grondel, who had five digs and two blocks. That's the most digs James has posted over his last 15 matchups.

Desert Hills' loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-6. As for Pine View, their record now sits at 7-5.
