Baseball Recap: Westbrook Has No Trouble Against Eula

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gordon, Westbrook was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 12-3 margin over the Eula Pirates. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wildcats needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.

Jaxson Browne was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Shawn Salazar was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Landon Rodriguez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-2.

Westbrook now has a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Westbrook will take on Forsan at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Eula, they will be playing at home against Cisco at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cisco is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
