Softball Recap: Franklinton Comes Up Short

Franklinton fell victim to Roanoke Rapids and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 6-0 to the Yellowjackets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-1 on March 4th.

Madison Lada spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits.

Franklinton has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. The win (which was Roanoke Rapids' third in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Coming up, Franklinton will venture away from home to face off against Nash Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nash Central has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.82 runs per game on average), something Franklinton will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Roanoke Rapids, they will welcome Southern Nash at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Roanoke Rapids will need to watch out since Southern Nash has now posted at least ten runs in their last six matches.
