Basketball Recap: Wallkill Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Alex Marshall and Sean Petricek

Wallkill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 59-38 to the Roosevelt Presidents. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-29 back in December of 2024.

Wallkill's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sean Petricek, who posted eight points and seven boards, and Alex Marshall, who had 14 points.

Wallkill's record now sits at 4-8. As for Roosevelt, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Wallkill Panthers challenge the Johnson City Wildcats at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday. Roosevelt has already played their next matchup (against Monroe-Woodbury), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
