Baseball Game Preview: Heritage Panthers vs. Westwood Panthers

We've got a battle between Panthers coming up. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around on Thursday.

Heritage is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Eau Gallie on Wednesday. They lost 11-1 to the Commodores.

Kethziel Torres made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Meanwhile, Westwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against Okeechobee, falling 15-0.

Heritage's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Westwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Heritage came out on top in a nail-biter against Westwood when the teams last played back in April of 2022, sneaking past 12-10. Will Heritage repeat their success, or does Westwood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
