Baseball Recap: Spring Valley Finds Home Field Redemption Against West Ashley

There's no place like home for Spring Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against the West Ashley Wildcats by a score of 6-2 on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Wildcats on Tuesday, they had to take a 5-4 loss.

Daniel Bledsoe spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits. He is becoming a predictor of Spring Valley's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 3-1 (and 9-14 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Spring Valley's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Harper Kissiah, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Brady Evans, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Spring Valley pushed their record up to 12-15 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for West Ashley, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-18.

Spring Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-1 loss against James Island on the 10th. West Ashley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
