The Bishop Canevin Crusaders are taking a road trip to take on the Steel Valley Ironmen at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bishop Canevin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Bishop Canevin came up short against Taylor Allderdice and fell 8-3.

Bishop Canevin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Maddix, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two doubles and one run. Aaryn Edwards was another, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Steel Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 16-2 to Eden Christian Academy.

Steel Valley's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Bishop Canevin, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Steel Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Bishop Canevin has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Steel Valley, though, as they've been averaging only 3.8 strikeouts. Will Bishop Canevin keep running through batters, or will the Ironmen buck the trend?

Bishop Canevin couldn't quite finish off Steel Valley in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 8-6. Can the Crusaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
