Basketball Recap: Matt Mcfield's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Carver High School of Engineering & Science over Imhotep Charter

Carver High School of Engineering & Science lost against Imhotep Charter back in February of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Carver High School of Engineering & Science lost to the Imhotep Charter Panthers at home by a 71-54 margin. While losing is never fun, Carver High School of Engineering & Science can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while Imhotep Charter is ranked 16th).

Several Carver High School of Engineering & Science players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Matt McField, who posted 16 points. McField is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Fareed Brown was another key player, putting up 18 points.

Carver High School of Engineering & Science has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season. As for Imhotep Charter, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carver High School of Engineering & Science will take on Northeast at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Carver High School of Engineering & Science is facing Northeast at the right time seeing as Northeast is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Imhotep Charter has already played their next contest (against Constitution), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
