Recap: Brookesmith Mustangs vs. Rochelle Hornets
The Brookesmith Mustangs waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against Rochelle by a score of 46-37. For Brookesmith, this counts as revenge for the 54-52 defeat Rochelle walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Brookesmith's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jase Moreno led the charge by scoring 17 points. Another player making a difference was Adyn Ribble, who scored 11 points.
Brookesmith is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 20 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. As for Rochelle, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Brookesmith will head out on the road to take on Richland Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Richland Springs knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Brookesmith likes a good challenge. As for Rochelle, they will be playing at home against Lometa at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Lometa has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 28.
