Jordan-Elbridge is 0-3 against Canastota since May of 2023 but things could change on Saturday. The Eagles will be playing at home against Canastota at 11:00 a.m. Jordan-Elbridge will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Jordan-Elbridge and Skaneateles meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Eagles walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Lakers.
Shannon III Ahern made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. Ahern was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hunter LaBarge, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. Chase Brunelle was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Canastota). They put the hurt on Hamilton with a sharp 10-4 win on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for Canastota as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Like Jordan-Elbridge, Canastota also got a great game from a two-way player: Carter Relf. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Relf has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Blake Howard was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was JT Kurak, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.
Canastota kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.
Jordan-Elbridge's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Canastota, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.
Canastota's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Jordan-Elbridge has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432. It's a different story for Canastota, though, as they've only averaged .332. Will they be able to contain Jordan-Elbridge's hitters?
Jordan-Elbridge couldn't quite finish off Canastota in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 and fell 4-2. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
