Volleyball Recap: South Bend Adams Comes Up Short

South Bend Adams was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Penn Kingsmen, falling 3-0. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Kingsmen from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

While South Bend Adams was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Penn's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-17, 25-19.

Penn got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Montana Swartz out in front who had 24 assists and four digs. Swartz is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Abby Lane, who had ten digs.

South Bend Adams' defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Penn, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

South Bend Adams didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Culver Academies on the 27th. As for Penn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Lawrence North on the 27th.
