Football Recap: College Station Piles Up the Points Against Hays + How To Watch

College Station entered their tilt with Hays on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They breezed past the Hawks to the tune of 52-7. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-0.

Leading College Station to victory were Trey Walton and Keaton Johnson. Walton gained 109 total yards, while Johnson rushed for 93 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries. Those 93 rushing yards gave Johnson a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: College Station was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 271 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 199 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

The victory got College Station back to even at 4-4. As for Hays, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Looking ahead, College Station will take on Lockhart at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.57 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Hays, they will challenge Anderson at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
